This is the lake side of the Monticello Dam outside of Winters, California. On a decent year, the lake level should be high enough to spill into the glory hole like in the photo below, or at least rise toward the top. But the second photo gives a glimpse of what's happening in California right now.

The state is experiencing a brutal drought that could have a massive effect on agricultural output and a whole lot more.
